Henry VIII Chain Inspired Head Band

Because I cannot get away with wearing crowns and French Hoods today, I have decided to modernize them a bit, but let them still posses their Tudor charm. This is one of the first I made. I became inspired while browsing at the hobby store. I ran across come pretty metal work pieces and bought them, thinking I would make earrings out of them. However, when I go home I became even more inspired and started wiring pearls onto them, then wiring them together. It took a while, but I think it came out pretty well! And the best part, it is light and doesn't put pressure behind my ears like normal headbands do!

Materials Used

Gold Metal Wire (thin and easy to twist and cut(

Pearl Beads (with hole in the center to put the wire through)

Decorative Metal Accessory (to attach the pearls to)

Jewelry Plyers

How to Make

1) Start by attaching the beads in a decorative pattern to the metal accessory with the thin wire. I used pearls and did an interchangeable pattern.

2) Attach the metal accessories together with the metal wire.

3) To wear: I used bobby pins on the very ends and pinned it behind my ears. It stayed without a problem!

Anne Boleyn Head Band

I love pearls, in case you haven't noticed. This was actually the first head band I made, and was very easy to do.

Materials Used

Metal Wire (thick, but still easy to shape and bend)

Pearl Beads

Jewelry Plyers (with cutting ability)

How to Make

1) Take two pieces of metal wire and measure how long each need to be to fit head. Once you have the right length, cut and attach on one end only.

2) Thread about 8-10 beads through on both pieces of wire. STOP!

3) Cut a piece of wire (about 1.5 inches, depending on how much space you want between the two long pieces).

4) Attach one end to one of the main pieces (where beads left off).

5) Bead piece and attach free end to opposite main piece.

6) Repeat steps 2-5 until you reach the end of the main pieces. Once done, bend end so beads will not fall off.

To Wear: I used bobby pins and mine stayed on without any problems!

Elizabethan Inspired Headband

Well, I got bored today and decided to make a new headband rather than do a paper that needs to be written. Here is my "gold and ruby" headband which can also be worn as a tiara. It is losely based on an Elizabethan head decoration, but much simpler. I might add more to it later. rubytwo
