Hever Castle is a 13th century castle that was converted into a country manor house in 1462 by Geoffrey Boleyn, Lord Mayor of London. The family of Henry VIII's second wife, Anne Boleyn, lived here until the death of her father, Sir Thomas Boleyn in 1539. Anne Boleyn and her sibblings spent part of their childhood at the castle, though they also lived abroad.

Though best known as the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, Hever Castle was bestowed to Anne of Cleves, fourth wife of Henry VIII in 1540 after the annulment of their marriage. She spent little time here, however she did die her in on July 16, 1557.
